ZACHARY KOKORUDA GETS FIRST SPRINGER - SAYS HE WANTS TO SKIP SCHOOL EVERY DAY AND JUST KEEP ON FISHIN'!! DAD SAYS, UMMM, I DON'T THINK SO.
| The news from Buoy-72. I fished three glorious days at Buoy 72. The first day my son, Michael caught a nice 15-17# wild fish which we promptly released. Saw about 8 fish caught for about 50 boats. Still pretty slow. On Sunday Ed, Julie, Maria, and I fished the same area and I hooked up with a nice 14 pounder which we dined on later that evening. How wonderful spring chinook is. One of the best all around dinners ever! On Monday, Ed and I took his hookey-playing son out and lo and behold, he got his first springer and did better at fighting it than Larry Larson ever has. Congrats to Zac!! |

Fishing
over the three days was pretty slow. We saw only a handful of fish
caught each day but managed to fool a few with my not-so-famous Willamette
River Special - some of you know which one that is - the thingy with the red maribou. We certainly beat the average over the three days. But the best is yet to come. I will be fishing this Friday at Cathlamet with Pete Hassemer (IDFG) and Rod Sando (CBFWA). Then on Saturday at the same place with Pete and his wife Patty and my best fishing partner ever, Maria. I hope to see you all there. More reports later. Tight Lines. |
