About the Chalet

The Master Bedroom (upstairs) has a California King bed.  A sliding glass patio door and small deck provide glimpses of Sand Lake Estuary and sounds of the ocean surf mixed with rustling alders.

Another upstairs bedroom has a double bed and two twin beds.  A large picture window offers a tranquil view of the alders, firs, ferns, and hemlocks on the hillside behind the cabin.  This is a great room for reading or just relaxing and taking in the forest.  A bathroom with a shower is located between the two bedrooms.

The downstairs bedroom has a comfy queen bed and had windows out to the forest.

A small TV/game room has a large window looking out on the deck and gazebo and has a loveseat that makes out into a ¾ bed which can sleep two if necessary.  There’s a TV and DVD player for playing movies, books, cards and board games.

A downstairs bathroom has a combination shower/tub.

The living room is warm and cozy with a lovely wood stove to cheer those wonderful stormy, rainy days or to take the chill off the cold, clear nights.  The wood stove can be used either as a stove for heat or has a screen so the doors can be left open (while your in attendance) and is essentially a fireplace.  There’s a stereo with an iPod jack.   Large picture windows offer partial views of the estuary to the west.

The kitchen adjoins the living room and comes fully equipped with most everything you’d need to prepare your meals.  There’s a stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee pot, microwave, pots and pans, silverware, plates, glasses, and cups. For coffee-goers, there is a auto-drip machine, cone and filters and an electric grinder.  There are the usual staples and condiments in the fridge and cupboards.

There is no cell phone service or internet at the chalet, no matter where or how you stand! There is a land-line phone in case you need to make a call.

There is bike, two kayaks and a canoe in the garage with life jackets for use if you have a safe way to transport them.

The washer and dryer are located in the basement.  We hire a local cleaner to finish cleaning up after you leave.
